West Side Story We invite all CLIB students, parents and friends to come and enjoy our adaptation of the musical West Side Story, performed by our Performing Arts students under the directorship of Mrs Beck.  Our students have worked immensely hard over several months and now need the support of our community to reward their efforts. All students, even those as young as 3, should not miss this fantastic opportunity to watch their older peers on stage and find inspiration from themfor their own performances at school. The price of tickets has been set at 5 € (euros). All of the revenue raised from ticket sales, for both performances, will be donated to the Braga branch of Habitat for Humanity. Students that attend CLIB learn from an early age the importance of community service and how rewarding it is to give as well as receive. The support we receive from the school community will be gratefully received, not just to support the performers but also to support the great work of building homes for families in need in Braga. William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was the inspiration for the musical West Side Story. The story is about the blossoming love between Tony and Maria. Tony is the leader of the Jets, the “White” gang and Maria is the sister of the leader of the Sharks, the Puerto Rican gang and how they battle to overcome the hatred and feuding created by the cultural differences of the two communities. The shows will take place on the 17 and 18 December at the Auditorio Vita at 19h00. This is a new theatre with excellent facilities allowing you to enjoy the musical in maximum comfort.
