World Red Cross Day In order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Red Cross, on 4 May 2009, CLIB welcomed with open arms Dr. Francisco Alvim. The President of the Red Cross delegation in Braga is a person that embodies the altruism and the values of solidarity and fraternity that this organization stands for. After a brief presentation of this organization’s foundation and history in the world, Dr. Francisco Alvim gave his personal testimony about the noble act of being a volunteer at Red Cross. He also pleaded our students to get involved in actions of solidarity and altruism. Therefore, and because at CLIB we privilege an integrated education of social and personal development of the students, it was an honour to have Dr. Francisco Alvim amongst us, especially for the venerable example of altruism and dedication to others that he personifies.
