They were asked to participate in the funeral service of their dear music teacher Miss Carvalho who had lost her two month fight for life the previous day. It must be added that their participation filled all associated with CLIB with a sense of immense pride and honour.
It was obviously emotional for our students but they participated with great generosity and maturity in the knowledge that they were there to honour and celebrate the life of their teacher. She would have been so proud of each and every one of them. Heads held high, hearts open, firm voices. “Peace on earth” filled the packed church. This was the very last song which Joana had taught them. We will never forget this moment and our dear teacher, Joana Carvalho. Rest in Peace.
