This weekend witnessed a nationwide campaign from North to South, thousands of people were mobilized to make a contribution to help the most needy.
As so often at CLIB, where volunteering and community service are an important part of everyday life and our student’s education, no one wanted to miss out. Parents, teachers, staff and students, organized themselves into teams and joined the Braga Banco Alimentar’s group for a marathon that started on Saturday 28th at 9 o’clock and ended Sunday 29th , late in the evening.
Students from 10 to 18 years showed up as volunteers with great enthusiasm and pride to wear once again the Banco Alimentar t-shits. Many of the younger students, who do not have the age to be out alone managed to be part of these teams together with their parents. It was a real wave of solidarity difficult to control!
The campaign began the best way possible and by 11 o'clock in the morning, one of the vans from CLIB was the first to arrive at the Banco Alimentar's warehouse in Palmeira, and unloaded bags and bags of food. It was a high point, which many waited for with enthusiasm and the beginning of a frenzy that lasted the entire weekend. |
