When we look around at the number of international conflicts, at the distressing behaviour of some leaders and at the actions of certain governments in the violation of human rights, the proliferation of weapons, the destruction of our environment and the persecution of minority groups, we might become discouraged from pursuing change. However our students did not give up. They carried out intensive research, delivered persuasive speeches and wrote eloquent clauses that culminated in well-structured resolutions that implied action and problem-solving solutions.

The highlights of the conference were the valuable talk given by Dr. João de Deus Pinheiro and the apology of the Iranian delegate for his president's denial of the Holocaust. It should be noted that the award for most distinguished delegate was achieved by Tiago Devesa (DPRK - CIC) and the prize for revelation of the year was awarded to Francisco Gaspar (Norway - CLIB). Finally, it should also be stressed that this event very much contributed to the projection of CLIB as a well-established and recognised international school in Portugal, at the same time that it helped projecting Braga as a
multi-cultural cosmopolitan urban centre with high regard for the question of international relations.
